Name:
Catherine Dunn
City:
Mexico City
Hometown:
McLean, Virginia
About Me:

A Virginia girl, born and raised, I moved to Mexico City for six months, and, well... every expat knows the rest. I never left. I work at Inside México as the managing editor. Before that, I taught English, and SAT and GRE prep classes, and volunteered at a Mexican NGO called the Centro Nacional de Comunicación Social (CENCOS). Going way back to pre-Hispanic times, I was a UVA wahoo, Cavalier Daily staffer, newspaper intern, and a Mulholland's bookie. So if you're interested in writing for us, or placing a bet on the horses in Galway, Ireland, give me a shout.

Interests:

Cities (particularly DF), gluten-free food, what all my talented friends -- and little bro -- are up to, new media vs. print.

Activities:
IMX-everything, running, reading, cooking, looking for good writers, circling the fountain at Luis Cabrera, getting out of town, eating while on deadline, decorating my apartment.
Favorite Music:
Ryan Adams, Fernando Delgadillo, Randy Travis... plus Jacalito late-night circa 2005, Emily’s mixes, Jonathan’s 80s list, Sue-Ellen’s discopedia (except for the techno), Summer 1998 and 2003 soundtracks, Maya's car radio 2005-2008, and all those salsa CDs that probably wound up in Hoboken.
Favorite Books:
All things Cormac McCarthy/ Michael Chabon/ Ian McEwan/ Michal Pollan/ Nabokov, and Misty of Chincoteague
