La Teca: One of Oaxaca's top chefs prepares traditional cuisine from the Isthmus region

If you're a fan of Mexican food, you're probably well-versed in the delicias of Oaxaca: mole, quesillo, tlayudas. Perhaps you've even developed a taste for chapulines (dried and seasoned grasshoppers). But what about garnachas, and other specialties from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec?

From September 23rd through the 27th, Deyanira "La Teca" Aquino, one of Oaxaca's best known chefs and culinary anthropologists, will be in the kitchen at Polanco restaurant Vinomio. She'll cooking a special tasting menu, showcasing the depth and variety of the Istmo cuisine. The menu will be available for both lunch and dinner.
