Toluca's Historic Center

Toluca, the capital of the State of Mexico, is located just one hour from Mexico City and is the highest city in Mexico at 8,844 feet above sea level. Toluca is known as La Bella, or the Beautiful, for its 19th century colonial architecture in the downtown area. However, the city is better known today for its highly developed industrial sector. The city has an active cultural life and the second highest number of museums after Mexico City. It is also known for  tasty dishes, such as the surprisingly green - and good -  sausage tacos.

A number of beautiful natural settings surround Toluca, including the country’s fourth highest volcano, the Nevado de Toluca, and La Marquesa, a park in the mountains where visitors can hike, try wall-climbing, ride horses and rent four-wheel ATVs.

Toluca is home to the State of Mexico’s International Exposition and Convention Center (CIECEM) located just five minutes from Toluca’s International Airport with 107,639 square feet of indoor event spaces and 430,556 square feet of open-air spaces.

Toluca has a number of hotels perfect for hosting events, including the Fiesta Inn Toluca Centro with 85 guestrooms and 3 event halls measuring up to 22,281 square feet with a maximum capacity of 210 people. The Holiday Inn Express Toluca is 3 miles from Toluca’s International Airport. It has 127 guestrooms and event spaces for up to 130 guests.

Toluca is highly accessible via Mexico’s excellent toll roads, and is only a 30-minute bus ride from Mexico City’s financial district, Santa Fe. Toluca’s International Airport is one of the country’s most important airports with direct flights to Cancun, Los Cabos, Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta, and international flights to Los Angeles, Houston and Oakland.
