The city of Oaxaca by night

One of the Mexico´s most interesting states, Oaxaca, sits in the southeastern part of the country. Oaxaca is known for its culture, history, extraodinary local cuisine and talented local artists and artisans. It’s capital, also called Oaxaca, is a bustling colonial city that has enticed many foreigners to set up residence there. And, it draws visitors from around the world. More than once, the city has been nominated by Travel & Leisure magazine as one of the world´s top destinations.

The city of Oaxaca is edged by breathtaking mountains. Two major archeological sites, Mitla and Monte Alban, built by the Zapotecs Indians over 2,000 years ago, are close to the colonial center.

Oaxaca has a wide variety of boutique hotels perfect for small meetings or unforgettable incentive trips or weddings. Casa Oaxaca is world class boutique hotel with 9 luxurious suites, an open-air pool, art gallery, as well as a terrace and patio perfect for events of up to 130 guests. In-house catering services are available and they are worth it. Casa Oaxaca´s chef, Alejandro Ruiz, is one of the best in the city.

Another great place to stay is the Camino Real Oaxaca, nominated by Conde Nast Traveler in 2006 as one of the world´s best places to stay. The hotel is in a 16th century convent, with lush, courtyard gardens. Located in the city’s Historic Center, the Camino Real has 91 guestrooms and suites and 4 indoor and 3 outdoor event spaces for a maximum capacity of 600 guests. The hotel has 5 restaurants and bars onsite. The Hacienda de Los Laureles-SPA is a five-star and four-diamond rated hotel located just minutes from Oaxaca’s Historic Center. It has 23 luxury suites set around beautiful gardens. Events space at Los Laureles can accomodate up to 500 guests.

Located 25 minutes outside of Oaxaca city is Oaxaca’s International Airport with direct flights to Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, two beach destinations in the state, as well as to Mexico City, Monterrey, Tijuana and Houston.

The Huatulco CVB is ready to respond to your RFP and answer any questions you might have about Oaxaca meeting space, Oaxaca hotels and Oaxaca service providers.
