The north-western, Mexican state of Chihuahua borders the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. It is Mexico’s largest state and known for its desert landscapes and the Sierra Tarahumara Mountains. The state has a number of interesting archeological sites, including Paquime, a mysterious pre-Hispanic city of adobe constructions similar to those found in the U.S.´s southwest.

Chihuahua offers a variety of nature parks, including Medanos de Samalayuca and the Basaseachi Waterfall where visitors can rent mountain bikes and practice rapelling and rock climbing. Chihuahua’s famous Copper Canyons is one of the largest canyon systems in the world; visitors can take a tour of the canyons on the Chihuahua-Pacifico train route. This spectacular trip is one to consider as a pre or post-convention activity or for incentive trips.

Chihuahua’s capital, Chihuahua, is an elegant colonial town built during the mining boom in the 19th century. There visitors will find museums, quaint plazas and many recreational activities.

The capital’s largest convention center is the Expo Chihuahua, with 107,639 square feet of convention space divisible into 14 different halls, as well as 69,750 square feet of exposition space divisible into two sections. Expo Chihuahua also provides events services and banquet services.

The city of Chihuahua has five-star hotels like the Hampton Inn by Hilton Chihuahua City with 166 guestrooms and 3 meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 170 people; and the Holiday Inn & Suites Chihuahua with 74 guestrooms and 2 meeting rooms with a capacity of 100 people. The Hotel Boutique San Felipe El Real is also a beautiful location for small meetings with 8 luxury suites and meeting spaces in the library and dining room.
